#BollywoodMonster Mashup is orchestrated to please the senses of young and old alike and continues to expand year after year. Bringing to Mississauga another FREE event, the final day of this year’s festival offers something for everyone from all ages. Get ready to witness unbelievable performances by international Bollywood stars while at the same time chowing down on a variety of worldwide food. Don’t be afraid to break out those moves at our dance lessons, have a blast at our KidZone with both physical and crafty activities, treat yourself to some shopping, and more! Take part in Mississauga’s biggest party of the summer and bring out the whole family to join in on the FREE fun!
Aaman Trikha is a playback singer and performer from Mumbai, India. He has recorded songs in more than 10 different languages, including south languages such as Tamil and Malayalam, but is widely recognized as a Bollywood artist. In 2013, Trikha was nominated at the Stardust Awards for Best Upcoming Male Musical Sensation, as well as winning the Best Emerging Singer Award in Lions Club Gold Awards the same year. Trikha released his first solo music video in 2014, titled “Mahiya Tu Hi Tu” and has appeared in Bollywood films Khiladi 786, Prem Leela, Son of Sardaar and many more.
The #BollywoodMonster Orchestra will blow people’s minds by featuring top 40 hits from George Michael, Black Eyed Peas, and Gloria Estefan mashed up with Bollywood hits from films such as Ram Balram, Don and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
I’ve been here since the Bollywood Monster Mashup started in 2011, both as a musical arranger and a singer (both Hindi and English!) and it gets better every year. I’ve been a professional singer and musician ever since childhood, performed both locally and internationally, and this is one of the most fun things I’ve ever been a part of.
Stephanie Braganza is a powerhouse vocalist whose performances helped her win a Toronto Independent Music Award for Best Live Artist. The vocalist has performed in a wide array of settings throughout her career, including a private event at the Art Gallery of Ontario which was attended by former president George W. Bush, and at the MuchMusic Video Awards. An outspoken animal rights activist, her latest music video; “Chains of Silence” has won two 2017 Global Music awards for “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Music Video,” and has received support from Bif Naked, Tony Kanal (No Doubt) and PETA. In celebration of Canada’s South Asian Heritage Month in May 2017, Stephanie was listed in CBC Music‘s top “10 South Asian–Canadian Artists You Need to Hear Right Now”.
Lindsay has been playing piano/keyboards since the age of 7. Her work as a musician has taken her across Canada and the U.S. She doubles on vocals, acoustic guitar, and banjo.
She played session keyboards on Sarah McDougall’s WCMA-winning album ‘Grand Canyon’. Lindsay played keyboards for Shiloh from 2009-2012, and for Canadian 80s rockers Platinum Blonde for two RECENT years, from 2010-2012. With Shiloh, Lindsay performed on the MuchMusic Video Awards, and at JunoFest, and opened for such notable artists as Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, and Justin Bieber.
From Kingston, Ontario, Lydia Wilton is an independent producer, songwriter, and the frontman of touring rock band Nameless Friends. A powerful vocalist with a wide indie rock, alternative, and folk repertoire, #BollywoodMonster Mashup is her first time performing in Hindi! She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with both the Monstrarity team and her rad fellow musicians, and can’t wait to share the MONSTER results on July 21st. Lydia currently lives in London, Ontario with her custom guitars, where she is working on her thesis in Popular Music at Western University.
Olaf Szester is a Toronto based percussionist/drummer and composer. Olaf currently focuses his energies on freelancing, teaching and exploring a variety of diverse projects. In addition to playing percussion with the Thin Edge New Music Collective, a group that focuses on premiering new music from contemporary composers, he also spends a lot of time on the drum-kit. Olaf has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with artists such as Tom Cochrane, Skydiggers, Great Big Sea, Hey Rosetta and AKON. Currently Olaf is the drummer for Toronto’s based high energy punk alternative band BROOMFILLER, who have released and toured several albums to date and a dark alternative pop band called Gelax. Furthermore, Olaf can be found on the self-titled album of the progressive rock band Duck Duck Goose.
Riley O’Connor is a sought after Canadian drummer with a Humber Music background who is established as an international touring musician and session player in genres ranging from jazz, r&b, pop and country to heavy rock.
Riley plays frequently with critically acclaimed Toronto artists and composers such as Brownman Ali, Snaggle, Michael Schatte, Chris Antonik, Jake Wilkinson and Jordana Talsky. He also writes and records his own music as a member of the pop duo CR Extraodinaire. In addition to collaborating with original artists, Riley enjoys providing the rhythmic foundation for The Vegas North Orchestra which accompanies a variety of premiere pop and jazz tribute acts.
Riley’s drumming is captured on recordings from Canada’s top studios such as CBC, Phase One and Coalition Music and has been featured on The Edge 102.1, Much Music, CBC Television and Lionsgate Pictures.
Giggle Queens is a choreography/performance duo by Ria Aikat and Jennalee Desjardins. They specialize in fusion dance projects, including Bollywood/ Classical Indian Dance and Urban Dance. They also like laughing.
Himanshu is a talented and versatile singer, songwriter, and composer located in Toronto, Canada. He is known to mesmerize audiences with his powerful voice and intense projection. His command over various styles of singing is evident from the ease with which he sings in various styles of music such as Hindi, Punjabi, Rock, Pop, Bhajans, and Light Classical. He has received several years of vocal training in Hindustani Classical Music.
He is well known for his unique style and the creativity he instills in both his live performances and his own compositions. Himanshu has consistently received immense critical and audience acclaim for his memorable and charismatic performances for many major events around the world.
Uppekha Jain is former Miss. India Canada Worldwide and the first Indo-Canadian actress to be featured as a permanent cast of one of India’s longest running, top rated, prime-time daily soap opera’s Saath Nibhana Saathiya (‘Saathiya’.), on StarPlus. She has been a popular face on Indian television for the last 6 years having been featured in over 30 ads, many with A-List Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra & Katrina Kaif. Uppekha is also a sought-after anchor for various live shows across the world and has hosted a slew of awards nights & events with A-List Bollywood, and Corporate Giants.
After 7 years in Mumbai, Uppekha – a GTA girl at heart – has decided to foray back into the Toronto entertainment world & can be seen in various upcoming Canadian productions!
Prior to Saathiya, Uppekha was, and continues to be a spoken word poet, who shot to international acclaim with her self-written and co-performed piece ‘The Rap Against Rape’. This video created a sensation across the world and was featured across prominent news channels including The Wall Street Journal, Canada AM, Huffington Post, The Times in addition to various lifestyle portals like Cosmopolitan, Maria Claire, Glamour, Femina and many more. This international disruption and attention on India’s attitude towards rape, helped coerce and put pressure on the government which eventually led to policy and law reform in the country.
Randy Persaud is a prolific character in Peel Region who champions many events throughout his community. Charged as the cities’ Hypemachine, Randy is one of the most sought after hosts, announcers and community producers in city.
A charismatic Rogers Television personality for over 7 years, Randy has hosted a variety ofprograms from Talk Local, Local Notes, Carassauga Pre-Show, The MARTY Awards Kickoffshow and Cable 10 Live.
He has worked with high profile CBC productions such as Hockey Night in Canada, The Olympic Summer and Winter Games, Dragons Den, Rick Mercer and many more.
A former boxing ring announcer for Boxing Ontario, Randy has hosted events at arenasand stadiums around southern Ontario. He has hosted crowds of over 80,000 for manyevents from the Bollywood Monster Mashup, Youth Day, MAC Arts Festival, MississaugaWaterfront Festival, The Pan Am Games and Carassauga.
In 2016, Randy won the Creative Community award by the Mississauga Arts Council atthe MARTY Awards for his work in the community. His award was recognized bythe Honourable MP Iqra Khalid in the House of Commons.

Triple Goddess is a dance and poetry collaboration created and performed by Ria Aikat, Reshmi Chetram and Sheniz Janmohamed. A musical, lyrical journey that seeks to embody the Goddess’ qualities of wisdom, compassion and grace, Triple Goddess is sure to inspire audiences of all ages.
Sheniz Janmohamed (MFA) is a firm believer in fostering community through collaboration, compassion and creativity. In her creative practice, she strives to embody words through performance, land art and writing in the ghazal form.
A seasoned poet, artist educator and land artist, Sheniz’s work has been featured at venues around the world, including the Jaipur Literature Festival, TedXYouth (Toronto) and the Aga Khan Museum. She is also the author of two collections of poetry: Bleeding Light (Mawenzi House, 2010) and Firesmoke (Mawenzi House, 2014).
Sheniz visits dozens of schools and organisations each year to teach, perform, and inspire creativity in her students. In 2015, Sheniz was awarded the Lois Birkenshaw-Fleming Creative Teaching Scholarship, and holds a Artist Educator Mentor certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto).
Sheniz is also the founder of Questions for Ancestors, a blog that encourages BIPOC writers and artists across Turtle Island to ask questions of their ancestors as provide advice for their descendants.
Sheniz is currently working on her third collection of ghazals.
Ria Aikat is a professional dancer and teacher with a Masters in Teaching degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). She has been teaching in the arts for over 10 years. Ria is a former artistic director and current dancer for the non-profit dance organization Culture Shock Toronto where she has performed internationally in Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington DC, and Las Vegas. Ria is also a part-time faculty member at Centennial College, as well as a lead educator for Moving EDGEucation. Across the Greater Toronto Area, Ria facilitates community building sessions for students, and professional development workshops for teachers focusing on dance and movement in the classroom. Ria’s passion for urban dance including house, hip hop and waacking, and classical Indian dance has inspired her to choreograph and perform Bollywood fusion pieces across the province. Ria is also the co-founding director of the dance company Giggle Queens with Jennalee Desjardins.
Reshmi Chetram is an Indo Canadian performing artist, creative director & producer in North America. Having trained with her mother, Deviekha Chetram, founder of the” Tarana Dance Centre ” in Toronto for over 20 years,she then went onto further her knowledge in Kathak after being accepted under the tutelage of Kathak legend, Pandit Birju Maharaj in New Delhi, India from 2005-2012. Reshmi has given performances and workshops in Canada, U.S & India. Locally she has been recognized as a choreographer and producer on the rise & has taken part in numerous productions and events. Reshmi is the Creative Director & Choreographer of Tarana Dance in Toronto where she trains & guides students at from the age of 3-65yrs in the art of dance. Reshmi serves as the Executive Director for Natya Arts Productions, which focuses on the promotion of Indian Classical Arts in Canada
Born in Mumbai, India, Dilshad Burman is an award winning TV host and Canadian media personality based in Toronto. She is well known for hosting the Canadian Screen Award nominated, urban culture show V-Mix on Omni Television throughout its four season run. She also contributed her editing, writing and producing talents to the City TV and Omni Television newsrooms for over six years.
As a well-rounded television professional, Dilshad is now channeling her skills and experience into independent content creation. Along with hosting her own web series, she also produces/writes content for independent media houses and City TV. Plus, she has a fledgling but growing career as a model/actress and can be seen in the latest national Nikon, WWF and Planet Fitness ad campaigns.
Anandita Basu, a recognized name in Sahaja music, Sufi and qawwali music from Kolkata, India, started to learn Indian Classical music at the age of 4 with her mother and Guru, Professor Anjana Basu who got the president award of best teacher in 2004 .
Anandita has been a dedicated student, learning various art forms from great masters of dance, music and percussion. She holds master degree in sociolology, and has received the Sangeet Prabhakar and Sangeet Visharad degrees in Music and Tabla, and upon completing her degrees she started working for different international institutions and organizations with the purpose of promoting Indian music and culture all over the world.
Her performances and recordings have been featured in many media and concerts, receiving great recognition for the uniqueness with which the complete peace and joy of self-connection is expressed while she sings.
She has performed in and outside of India many times, touring Canada, EEUU, Suriname, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana,French Guiana, Argentina, Uruguay, Aruba, Trinidad, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, South Africa, Finland, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, Morocco amongst other countries.
She has performed in more than 40 countries all over the world in every continent .
She has also performed in many festivals like Culture Spirit Festival in Italy, Helsinki Festival in Finland, Festival de Música Sacra de Bogotá, Sufi Soul Festival in Germany, Sufi Festival in Morocco.
She has been rewarded with Award of Sufi soul by the German india association in Germany. She has been also given special recognization by the Government of India for her contribution to Indian Art in Colombia.
Her CD’s, like Sufi soul, Manan, and Sargam, have been widely appreciated by the public in India and abroad. She has also worked in Fusion music with artists like Juan Sebastián Monsalve, Miguel Czachowski, Kavita Krishnamurti and others, and recorded with very renowned bands like Indialucia, Curupira Trio, Soplo de Vida amongst others.
Anandita received her inner self realization in 1989 with her guru Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (the biggest master of peace) and has been under her spiritual guidance since then. She has toured the world since 2007 to bring self-realization to mankind through her music, called Sahaja sufi music, the music of realized souls.
Currently she is professor of Indian music and dance at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, and founder and director of Foundation Kalakendra of India to promote Indian culture in Colombia.
Nancy Majoulian is a former business executive, who complemented her business degree with a herbalist & nutritionist diploma. Nancy attributes a large portion of her accomplishments to her health and wellness regimen. Within these two modalities, she currently holds various workshops within the public and private sector all over North America. She is also a faculty member at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition, has made several television appearances to talk about plant-based nutrition and she was a guest speaker and did a cooking demo at the 2016 Thrive with Cancer Expo in Toronto.
Nancy is also the creator of Gaia LifeForce and the co-producer & host of “Nancy’s Kitchen”, where the art of plant-based cooking meets the science of nutrition. Tricube Dance is one of Toronto’s top Bollywood dance companies that is back for a 5th year at BMM. They have been featured on CTV, Global, OMNI’s VMix Show, TD South Asian Festivals as the TD Dancers, Smart Centres, McMaster University, Mohawk College and numerous other corporate events. Their signature is fusion choreography- blending the east with the west. They do professional performances and teach group lessons, as well as private choreography for wedding and special events. Tripti Ninan is the artistic director, lead choreographer and experienced performer who has a passion for spreading the love of dance with everyone!
Radha is the Marketing Strategist and Senior Correspondent of Bramptonist, one of the leading news organizations within the city of Brampton. She is also Bramptonist’s food critic and co-developer of the Food and Drink Guide for the Official City of Brampton Tourism Guide 2018. As a 2018 Brampton Board of Trade Top 40 Under 40 and as a vibrant, award-winning public speaker, Radha’s passions surround cuisine, community, culture and city development.
Radha also led marketing, public relations and operations for non-profit organizations including Carassauga Festival of Cultures. Previous experience includes CTV News, Global TV and Rogers TV Peel.
Sheena Osman is an Actress, Pageant Queen and Journalist from Brampton, ON. She is born and raised in Toronto.
She has won various pageant titles and most recently won the national title of Miss Canada Tourism 2017 representing events, charity and tourism in Canada. She is currently competing for the national title of Miss Asia Canada 2018.
Sheena can be seen in various music videos, short films and feature films. Most recently, a film she played a lead role was featured in the International Film Festival of South Asia in Toronto and another film she played a role in was featured in the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival in India.
Sheena also has experience as an on-air personality being a host for various TV shows, has experience as a radio host/announcer, has done voiceover work and was a freelance writer for various publications.
Currently she is a TV Host of a show called Stereo Sessions that profiles both mainstream and independent music artists and is aired worldwide on the HTV Network.
In her spare time, she emcees/hosts both local and international events, judges pageants and enjoys getting involved in the community in any way she can.
